The Venice Beach House is located just a block from the Pacific ocean and was built in 1911 by Warren & Carla Wilson. Wilson was the owner of the Los Angeles Daily Journal, and was friends with thee founder of Venice, Abbot Kinney and a close-knit group of Hollywood stars and local personalities. The home has been faithfully restored, inviting an ever growing circle of friends and family to share its elegance. Its distinctive craftsman style architecture and long list of celebrity connections have earned its listing on the National Register of Historic Places.
There are 9 themed rooms in the House including the Warren Wilson Room, beautifully decorated with a queen sized bed, a personal writing desk, and finished in lavish wood detail. There is also the Tramps Quarters, a cozy romantic hideaway with a queen size bed for one or two. The original 'Little Tramp' on the Venice Boardwalk was, Charlie Chaplin. The Tramp's Quarters is a decorated room with pine beam ceiling and a lovely garden view. The Speedway Room overlooks the Speedway, where there was only one Venice Grand Prix, won by Barney Oldfield, in 1915. Abbot Kinney's Room celebrates the founder of Venice. Abbot Kinney's room is a perfect place for dreamers to escape the drudgery of the world... and dream great dreams of your own. Cora's Corner (inspired by Warren Wilson's daughter Cora Wilson Pruitt) includes a king size bed and antique wicker furniture. The Olympic Suite pays tribute to the Venice Swim team that competed in the 1938 Olympic Games. The Olympic Suite has a king size bed and a private bath w/double shower. Aimee McPherson's Room is two rooms, one with king size bed the other with twin (or three twin beds). The beautiful Pier Suite takes you back to another time, with a king size bed, fireplace, sitting room, and private bath. James Peasgood's Room has a king size bed, double jacuzzi-bathtub, cathedral wood ceiling and a private balcony.
